Film noir version of wifey enjoying a quiet moment. Tried to get some kind of a Marcellus Wallace Pulp Fiction briefcase thing going on the book, but think I just ended up washing it out instead.
Felt like kind of a turd taking this shot, but I had the camera in my hand already and I went with my impulse. Can't imagine being the kind of photographer that does footage for global aid NGOs. I'm always thinking, "put down the camera and give the kid some food!!"
Rest easy, it was just a small ouchie and was quickly followed by a joyous romp on the scooter!
This one really blows me away for something that was just a casual shot from my beach lounger. Between the purple hues on the lens flare, the light seeming to shoot into the bottle, and the airplane trail, it seems like something out of a sci-fi film.
Except to remove a small blemish, I did no post-processing on this whatsoever.

The United States Interstate Highway System was not designed with airplane landings in mind. A common urban legend states that one out of every five (or ten) miles of highway must be straight and flat to allow emergency (or military) airplane landings, but this is not the case. However, several parts of the German and later the Swiss Autobahn system were indeed designed to be auxiliary military air strips, both during World War II and the Cold War. Additionally, the Swedish Air Force built landing strips into their highway system starting in the 1950s with some expansion continuing into the 1990s. Poland also contains highway strips for landing and takeoff, as do Finland, Singapore and Bulgaria. The Eyre Highway, which crosses the Nullarbor Plain in Australia, has four allocated areas for Flying Doctor aircraft to land.
